My name is Louis Grey and this is my Portfolio Page.
During my time developing games I have fulfilled the roles of Programmer, Game Designer and Sound Designer.

Normal Man
Normal man is an isometric beat em up where players take on the role of Norm and play through 21 different levels using an array of different combat abilities to overcome enemies. It is an on going project and has been a core project of mine for the past 2 years. This project was made using Unity Game Engine.
My core responsibilities during this project have been:
- Combat Programming - Normal mans primary mechanic is melee combat which involves a free flow combat style similar to that of the Batman Arkham games.
- Animation Programming - This ties into the combat as a lot of the combat requires precise animations timing.
- Sound Design and Programming - Designed and programmed the music and sfx. Designing sounds by layer samples or creating new sounds using Ableton Live Suite.
- UI Programming - Created cohesive and intuitive UI navigation.
My responsibilities extend further than just these as there are many other mechanics in the game and I was across a lot of them.
Rodent Rumble
A 3D couch co-op party game where you play as a rodent in a ball and try too knock players off of platforms and be the last one standing. This project was completed in 4 weeks with a team of 5 people and was created in Unity Engine.
My responsibilities during this project have been:
- Player Programming - I programmed the physics based player controller.
- Physics Programming - For this project we used a lot of different aspects using Unitys physics engine.
- Hazard Mechanics - For each of the levels there were extra hazards to knock the player off the platforms
Soul Trader
A grid based tactics game where the player becomes Luna the upcoming ferryman across the River Styx. She must ferry her cargo of souls across the river while protecting them from the creatures of the deep. This game engages a turn-based tactical approach to combat. This game was created by a team of 5 people over 4 weeks using Unity Game Engine.
My responsibilities during this project have been:
- AI Programming - I programmed the AI for 2 of the 4 different enemies. Which including having them make turn based movements and attacks across a grid.
- Ability Mechanics - The player has the ability to use different Items and abilities which all have unique behaviours. This included using our grid system to highlight particular sets of grid squares to be effected with different properties.
Goo Baby
A platformer game incorporating aspects of the game Portal. The game takes place in a lab where you the scientist have shrunken yourself down and you only have your Goo Gun to help you to the end of the level and return to normal size. The unique mechanics of this platforming game are to do with the Gun where the player can Slide and bounce depending on which goo he is standing on the players. This project was made over 2 weeks with a team of 5 and was made in Unreal Engine.
My responsibilities during this project have been:
- Ability Mechanics - The player has the ability to use different kinds of goo to traverse the level including painting decals and using a fluid sim to create a painted effect on surfaces. Different kinds of goo were used to create different movement controls for the player, they were all physics based.
Anonymous User
A Games for Impact project about Addiction. The player must coplete basic puzzles on a simulated computer while attempting to avoid constant pop up ads and even the cursor moving on its own which is a representation of the pull of addiction at all times for the user. This project was completed over 2 weeks with 4 members.
My responsibilities during this project have been:
- UI Programming- The majority of the interactable area takes place in the UI screen space as the play space is a simulateds PC. I created all of my work using Unity's UI system for this project.
